A new interactive web application, Space Now, is offering users a real-time, browser-based view of the Solar System, modeling the positions of more than 527,000 celestial and man-made objects.

The project, showcased on Hacker News under the title "Show HN: Real-time Solar System with 526k asteroids and all tracked satellites," plots individual orbits for a catalog of over 526,000 asteroids, allowing users to visualize the scale and distribution of minor planets throughout the Solar System.

Beyond asteroids, the tool also tracks active satellites and spacecraft. According to figures published on the site, 19,879 objects have publicly available, confirmed orbital data, while another 15,265 are tracked using statistically estimated trajectories, for a combined total of more than 35,000 monitored satellites and spacecraft.

The application functions as a live astronomy simulation running directly in a web browser, without requiring specialized software. Details on the underlying data sources, update frequency and technical architecture were not fully available in the material reviewed for this report.

Readers interested in exploring the tool directly can visit the project's site. As with many independently developed tools shared on Hacker News, the figures and methodology described come from the creator's own presentation and have not been independently verified.
