A new browser-based game is spreading quickly online for a simple, cathartic premise: letting players blow up any website they choose.
Called "Destroy Any Website," the game was created by developer Hugo Duprez and turns any web page a user types in into a destructible, pixel-art level. Players control a small stick figure who can run and jump across a site's text and images, then unleash an arsenal of weapons to tear the page apart.
The default weapon is a pistol, but players can scroll to switch between an SMG, shotgun, rocket-propelled grenade launcher, railgun, flamethrower and missiles, or right-click to lob grenades. The visual style evokes mid-2000s Flash games, with pages crumbling into pixelated debris as they're shot up.
The game supports multiplayer sessions of up to six people, letting friends team up to demolish a site together, though it also works fine as a solo experience. It was built using Sprite Fusion, Duprez's own tool for generating game-ready sprites and animations.
The project, shared on Hacker News under the title "Show HN: Destroy Any Website with Stickman," has drawn attention for its novelty and simplicity: pick a site, any site, and start smashing. According to details accompanying the release, the game is designed for desktop browsers and does not currently work on mobile devices. There is also an option allowing website owners to embed the tool directly on their own pages, inviting visitors to destroy the site themselves.
As with many fast-spreading web projects, some specifics — including exact release dates and technical details — were not fully verifiable from the available material and should be confirmed against original post before further reporting.
